What Is Ekiden? Ekiden is a decentralized derivatives exchange for on-chain perpetual futures trading. It runs a hybrid model that pairs an off-chain Central Limit Orderbook (CLOB) with deferred on-chain settlement, so traders get centralized-exchange speed but keep custody of their assets and a transparent settlement record.
In May 2026, Ekiden raised $2 million in a seed round at a roughly $20 million valuation, led by Unicorn Factory Ventures and P2 Ventures. The round drew GSR, Flowdesk, Pyth, Aptos, Monolith, Hardcore Labs, Moonhill Capital, and Curiosity Capital, with Keyrock joining as a strategic partner.
Ekiden has not formally announced an airdrop, but its own documentation describes an XP system that may convert into an EKI token allocation at TGE, which makes early testnet trading worth tracking. XP is earned through trading activity and recorded in a points ledger that feeds the rewards and leaderboard APIs.
XP does not follow a flat volume formula. Ekiden uses a backend model that allocates a weekly XP pool pro rata, scoring each trader on eligible volume, ROI, and a drawdown factor.
Go to the Ekiden testnet and click the connect button. The testnet runs on Aptos, so you will trade with test tokens rather than real assets.
Connect a Petra or Nightly wallet. If you do not have one installed, add the browser extension first from the link mentioned on the testnet page, then return to the site.
Approve the connection request in the wallet pop-up. Manually switch your wallet to the Aptos testnet network from within the app.
Click the faucet button on the testnet page to request testnet tokens. You can make up to five faucet requests per day, so claim early if you plan to trade actively.
Click deposit to move your testnet USDC into your trading account. This balance funds your positions on the perpetual markets.
Open positions on the available perp markets to start generating volume. Since the XP model scores volume alongside ROI and drawdown, trade with a plan. Consistent, profitable activity scores better than reckless size.
The testnet runs as a beta, and the platform asks users to share feedback on the upper left corner of the testnet page while they trade. Report bugs, rough edges, and feature ideas through the official feedback link. Detailed, useful feedback may also count toward any future airdrop, so put real thought into it.
Join the Ekiden Discord and stay active to earn XP and community roles. Send messages to gain XP and check your level with the !rank command in the check-rank channel. The role tiers work like this:
Shinjin (Newcomer): Automatic once you reach Level 1 through chat activity. Senpai (Senior): Automatic at Level 5. Shihan (Master): Automatic at Level 10. Kensei (Sword Saint): Granted manually for exceptional contributions to the project. Kami (Spirit): Granted manually to the most valuable community members.
The first three tiers come from chat XP, so consistent activity gets you to Master. The Sword Saint and Spirit roles are awarded by hand, so creating memes, art, and content in the content channel and helping moderate improves your odds.
Link your X account in the set-twitter channel to earn engagement XP from Ekiden’s posts.
